91快活林 and Verily: Revolutionising Wastewater Monitoring
Since its inception in 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, 91快活林鈥檚 wastewater lab has become a leader in environmental bio-surveillance in the UK. In September 2024, Bangor announced a partnership with , a precision health technology company, to expand its wastewater monitoring program. Currently, Verily and 91快活林 are working to onboard customers, including governments and life science companies, for both wastewater testing and generating unique insights from wastewater data. 1
State-of-the-Art Laboratory at 91快活林
The 91快活林 lab, led by Davey Jones, PhD, a noted Professor of Environmental Science & Public Health and Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor at 91快活林, is adopting Verily鈥檚 advanced wastewater testing technology to deliver high-quality public health data, crucial for tracking virus transmission and bolstering research and development efforts across both the public and private sectors. With this collaboration, the lab is extending its testing service capabilities to a wide range of human pathogens, including Norovirus, influenza viruses, MPXV, SARS-CoV-2, antimicrobial resistant bacteria, and fungi. The lab will also accelerate new capability development, including environmental testing. Professor Jones and his team will continue to lead operations in the 91快活林 laboratory, in partnership with Verily. 2
Services: Advanced Pathogen Detection and Public Health Insights
We work with government agencies, academic institutions, and commercial R&D organisations to establish and manage wastewater monitoring programs from site identification through returning results.
Our facilities can provide all the logistics support to efficiently onboard sites and manage sample collection, offers quantitative analysis to measure pathogen concentrations, genomic sequencing, and data delivery under ISO 17025.
