Research Interests
My research focuses on using satellite data to explore early warning signals in lakes as they approach a tipping point. This work falls under the RESETLakes project funded by the European Space Agency and will also be using process-based lake models explore how these lakes to exceed a tipping point in the future under different climate scenarios.
In addition to my interests in modern and future lake proceses, I am also interested in palaeoclimate. For my PhD I focused on using annually-resolved lake records from Europe and finding the best ways to expoit their palaeoclimate potential. This included producing a Bayesian statistical model and R package (SCUBIDO) to reconstruct quantified climate, and also conduct data-model comparisons to contextualise current and future changes in our climate system.Â
