Join Martina Feilzer, Professor in Criminology & Criminal Justice, for this FREE online Taster Session
What happens when those pursuing Justice get it wrong? This session will include a discussion on how the criminal justice system in England and Wales is organised to pursue justice and prevent miscarriages of justice, using the Post Office Scandal as an example of how things can go terribly wrong. The Post Office Scandal is the most significant miscarriage of justice in recent decades in terms of the scale of victims affected and its implications for criminal justice. It raises questions of the ethics of prosecutors, lawyers, companies, and the post office, as well as challenging the trusted protections of fair trials and doctrines of ‘innocent until proven guilty’.
